Sunday Services
Sunday services begin at 10 a.m.
There is no dress code; wear what makes you feel comfortable.
Children are always welcome in our services. We have a nursery available for children up to 3 years. After our Story for All Ages, children, and youth are invited to Religous Education classes except for during intergenerational services.
ASL interpretation is available for services unless noted.
Following the service, there is social time with coffee and snacks. At 11:30 a.m. adults have Religious Education while the children enjoy Community Time.
Our service begins with the reading of our welcome statement read by one of our volunteer Worship Associates. We share announcements, then we recite our covenant (found here) as Reverend Lynn lights our chalice. We sing from the Unitarian Universalist song book. We have a Story for All Ages, then we sing as the children leave the service for Community Time. We have a time of sharing Joys and Sorrows. If you wish to have your Joy or Sorrow read aloud, write it in the book in the foyer or hand it directly to Reverend Lynn. After the joys and sorrows are read aloud, Reverend Lynn invites people from the congregation to come forward in silence and drop a small stone into a bowl of water, symbolizing our community. We take an offering each week, half of which goes to continuing the work of the ministry and the other half is donated to an organization doing work in the local community. During the offering each week we sing ‘Spirit of Life,’ a Unitarian Universalist hymn. Then there is a short sermon and we sing to end the service.
After the service we enjoy snacks, coffee, and conversation outside, called ‘Chalice Cafe.’ We hope you can join us and we can get to know you better.
